Our Story

From our very first conversation in a small bar in New York’s West Village (where Florian immediately suggested ordering a bottle of wine, since it was clearly the more economical choice), we knew something special was beginning. For the record, it was also on this day that Alex announced she would move to London—and Florian, without a moment’s hesitation, agreed to move across an ocean with a girl he just swiped right on.

Only a couple of months later, Alex appeared on Florian’s doorstep with a suitcase packed for two weeks, her little dog Ruth, and a random assortment of canned goods—it was time to quarantine together. Two weeks until this pandemic thing was over. Well, two weeks turned into three months, and moving into separate places after that just felt wrong. Alex soon found a lovely new home and, as a symbol of true love, Florian relocated from Manhattan to Brooklyn.

But we weren’t done moving. A year later, Florian headed to France for his studies, while Alex kept working tirelessly toward her dream of living in London. Finally, in the summer of 2023—after almost a year of long-distance dating and countless late-night FaceTimes—we both landed in the same city. Together, we now explore our new hometown and travel the world, visiting friends and catching up with our beloved families. We’ve filled our journey with laughter, love, Ruth’s occasional bark, and unforgettable moments. As we look forward to building our future as a married couple, we are grateful for every step we’ve taken together—and cannot wait to celebrate with all of you who are part of our story.
